Sacred Valley & Cusco Archaeological Sites

Afterward, we return toward Cusco to continue visiting the four classic archaeological sites located around the city. We begin with Tambomachay (3,765 m / 12,352 ft), known as the Temple of Water due to its still-functioning fountains and water channels. We then continue to Puca Pucara (3,600 m / 11,811 ft), an ancient military control point distinguished by its reddish stone constructions.

Following these visits, we head to Wayracocha to enjoy lunch, approximately between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.

In the afternoon, we resume the tour by visiting Qenqo (3,580 m / 11,745 ft), an important ceremonial center carved into rock, featuring passageways, altars, and ritual spaces dedicated to Pachamama. Finally, we explore Sacsayhuamán (3,700 m / 12,139 ft), a majestic Inca ceremonial fortress built with enormous stone blocks perfectly fitted together.

We conclude the tour with the return to Cusco.
